I cannot locate a goos place on the internet to upgrade my bios from the current version, I am trying to install windows XP pro and I keep getting the filei386ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded error. I have been told the bios won't allow me to install this op system, which is BS because that is what was on it!I can't go and download anything, as there is no operating system on it right now, that is the problem, can't get XP Pro to install because of that error message and it kicks me out of setup.

Click to expand.actually, those 2 links go to bios version 5.27 whereas my mobo has version 5.28 released and i cant find links to that bios.i emailed hp about it and am waiting for a response.on a side note, if you look at both of those links to 5.27, they appear to be the same version, but separately list 2 different issues they address. I find that odd. I would think 1 bios update to a same version would resolve both issues.but i am basically trying to find a copy of my bios so i can use the award bios editor to unlock its hidden treasures. And of course, so i can flash it back if i mess up. Click to expand.by just searching your motherboard in google got me to the Epox site, which is not down and still alive and kicking.Looking for your motherboard all I can find are BIOS updates up to.You are already saying, that the manufacturer Epox does no longer exist. They don't make new boards and their support for their boards obviously does not exist anymore.
Phoenix Award Bios V6 Update
(not bringing out new bios's)Who would make Bios updates when the manufacturer does no longer exist? Nobody. There are no updates for your board. As for your worry that an old bios is not as good as a new one. Most of the time a new bios only adds support to a motherboard for newer cpu's. Well, thank you for your reply, but.If you watch ePoX page, the last news on it's home are from 2007, so they are dead. Also I got the latest Bios version from that page and it is from August 2006, not 2005I thought only bios model matters. I don't think phoenix creates a custom bios for every single mobo, instead it creates a bios for a range of technologies. So my bios for example works with mobos with nforce 4 chipsets and amd processors.many mobos may fit that criteria. And finally I find it strange that the phoenix driver update software finds an update of his own bios. But then again i'm no expert.just the opposite XDI guess i'll leave it like that, since i'll never pay to get it.thx. Hi, I'm looking for BIOS update.
